This past Saturday I had one of my rare rest days... which... turned out to be anything but restful.
On Friday night, I went out to Queens to visit some friends I made at a Ramada I shot. After spending some time out there with them, I got back to my hotel room in Manhattan at a late hour of the night.
The next day I spent some time at the Met (Metropolitan Museum of Art) and walked down to 21.
21 is a famous restaurant and sports bar. Pele, when he signed with the Cosmos, had his press conference there, and announced that soccer had finally arrived to New York City.
I went to the Empire State Building, ate at Rue 57, then prepared for my long drive back to my next shoot by walking the 10 blocks or so back to get my car from the lot. My knees are still killing me from all the walking.

Last week I was asked if I would stay out and turn my trip into 10 weeks instead of the regular 5 weeks. So... turns out I might have been better off resting on this day.
But, I don’t regret it for one minute.

This is the view from my hotel in Manhattan. The New Yorker Hotel. Its tall, massive, ridiculously busy at all times... and I have to shoot it in a couple weeks.... (!!)

Resting is good.... when you do it.
